How does Danish seine work?
Boats deploying seine nets are known as seiners. Two main types of seine net are deployed from seiners: purse seines and Danish seines. A Danish seine is similar to a small trawl net, but the wire warps are much longer and there are no otter boards. A Danish seiner deploys the gear with one end of a weighted rope attached to an anchor buoy. As the vessel sweeps in a large circle the rope is deployed sinking to the bottom, followed by the Danish seine net and another weighted rope until the vessel returns to the anchor buoy. The net is then winched back onto the vessel scooping up fish that have been herded into its path by the ropes coming together on the bottom.
We deliver hydraulic system, winch control system and winches equipment required for the deployment and the return of the net. Additionally, we deliver aux winches and netdrums for the handling of fishing gear, as well as capstans and anchor winches. AS SCAN systems and stand-alone equipment are manufactured in a variety of sizes and supplied fully adapted to suit an individual vessel’s needs.
Our extensive experience and proven performance in the industry enables us to deliver solutions that not only meet an owner’s requirements but also withstand the conditions that vessels operate in.
