Steel fences for Knuthenborg Safari park

In cooperation with our partner Mads Lund Høj from Zoo Hegn, we've successfully completed a project that's both technically challenging and incredibly rewarding for HedeDanmark and Knuthenborg Safari Park. For the past 30 years, the park's four elephants – Lara, Djungla, Jenny, and Ramboline – have travelled Europe, performing in circuses. A ban on wild animals in circuses was implemented in Denmark in 2018, allowing these magnificent creatures to retire to a more natural environment.

Their new home is the expansive 140,000-square-meter Knuthenborg elephant park, designed to provide a stimulating and enriching habitat. To complement this new environment, we were tasked with producing and installing a state-of-the-art elephant fencing system with hydraulic control. This system will allow for the safe and secure management of the park while also providing the elephants with ample space to roam and socialize.

The hydraulic control aspect of the fencing is a significant improvement over traditional methods. It ensures smooth operation, minimizes noise disturbance for the elephants, and enhances safety for both the animals and park staff. This project represents a significant step forward in animal welfare at Knuthenborg Safari Park, and we're proud to have played a part in creating a more natural and comfortable sanctuary for these remarkable elephants.
