Investment in 20 New Wellboats
The world’s biggest wellboat operator, Sølvtrans, plans to build 20 ships over the next five years at a cost of approximately £647 million. Recently, they ordered three vessels from the Norwegian shipbuilder Aas Mekaniske Verksted.

AS Scan Wins Prestigious Contract for Sølvtrans Wellboat Equipment
Scan has been awarded a contract to deliver deck machinery to three wellboats that Aas Mekaniske Verksted is building for Sølvtrans. This contract follows several previous deliveries of auxiliary equipment to Sølvtrans and Aas Mekaniske Verksted.

2022 Sees Delivery of High-Capacity Wellboats by Aas Mekaniske Verksted for Sølvtrans
The three new Sølvtrans vessels, due for delivery in 2022, are of Aas Mekaniske Verksted’s own design. The wellboats have a loading capacity of 3000 m³ and are designed for smolt transport and dewatering systems for the freshwater treatment of the fish. The 76-meter vessels have a cargo volume of 3000 m³, providing a carrying capacity of 400-450 tons of live fish.
