Precision assembly of a 33 tons of pipe

In the current phase of a new Power-to-Ammonia plant's construction, AS SCAN and Skovgaard Energy has completed a critical installation step. Last Friday, the team successfully mounted a significant component: a 15-meter-high ammonia converter weighing 33 tons.

The operation was marked by its requirement for precision, as the converter's placement necessitated a tolerance of no more than 1mm deviation per meter.

The implementation of this ammonia converter is a key part of the Power-to-Ammonia plant, which is designed to harnesses the excess power from wind and solar energy by converting it into CO2-neutral ammonia that can replace the fossil fuels “coal, oil and gas”.

Further developments and updates on the plant's construction and operational milestones will be provided on our homepage as the project continues.
