Relocation of the electrical department has created space for a more flexible and integrated production setup

Last year, AS SCAN relocated its electrical department to new and larger facilities. This has made it possible to rethink the use of the existing space – resulting in the establishment of a new assembly area focused on efficient system integration.

The available square metres have been refurbished and adapted for assembly work, with layout and workflow optimized to support larger components. This provides better handling conditions and contributes to a more structured and safe working environment.

The first project in the new facilities is deck equipment for a Norwegian well boat. In this type of application, precision in assembly is essential for reliable operation. The new setup has made it possible to complete the assembly and preparation under improved conditions.

The new assembly area is a natural step in the ongoing development of AS SCAN’s production. By bringing more processes in-house, the company strengthens both quality assurance and flexibility – particularly when working with customized maritime solutions.

At the same time, the facilities allow multiple projects to be handled in parallel, supporting a more scalable production setup during periods of high activity.

The upgraded facilities also support assembly of winches and handling equipment, including solutions such as windlass and anchor winches, where reliability and robust performance are key requirements.

With the new assembly area, AS SCAN has created a more coherent production flow – from components to finished equipment – providing a stronger foundation for future deliveries to both maritime and industrial customers.
