Design, production and upgrade of a hydraulic cable reeling solution
AS SCAN has recently completed and delivered a hydraulic cable reel trailer developed in close collaboration with Vest El. The project included both the manufacture of a new cable reel trailer and the modification of an existing unit.
The new trailer is designed for reeling 2 × 60 metres Ø52 cable and is supplied with gearbox, hydraulic motor and overcentre valve for braking. The drum is activated via the tractor’s control valve, ensuring simple and reliable operation in the field. Hydraulic hoses and quick couplings are included as an integrated part of the delivery.
As part of the project, an existing cable trailer was also upgraded. The previous gearbox and electric motor system were dismantled and replaced with a new gearbox and hydraulic motor solution, including hydraulic hoses between the trailer and tractor. This upgrade provides a more robust and operationally reliable hydraulic setup.
The project also includes the required documentation to obtain CE marking.
