Press Release - AS Scan A/S Changes Ownership Structure

Effective June 1, 2024, AS Scan will see both familiar and new faces among its owners. CEO Michael Ørts Vejlgaard and Business Manager Jacob Høj Lambæk will remain as owners, while the companies Thyborøn Invest A/S, Jens Peter Langer Holding ApS, and JJ Capital ApS have joined as new stakeholders. The new owners are all rooted in and operate out of West Jutland, where they actively invest in and seek to strengthen and develop local companies on their growth journeys.

 

Strengthened position for growth

With this new ownership structure, AS Scan is better positioned for its continued journey as a professional partner providing high-tech solutions for clients in the wind turbine industry, Power to X sector, marine industry, and electric boilers for district heating and industrial use. The company’s core will remain its employees and their expertise in Hvide Sande, but there will be considerations for expanding to other locations. To support ongoing growth, the factory in Hvide Sande will be expanded as soon as the building permit is obtained from the municipality.

 

Meanwhile, Business Manager Henning Pedersen and Service Manager Klaus Olesen have chosen to step down from the ownership group. Both have held senior positions at AS Scan for many years. Klaus Olesen has been involved since the beginning when he and his brother took over Havnens Motorværksted, which later became AS Scan. Both Henning Pedersen and Klaus Olesen will continue their roles at AS Scan as before.

 

Company evolution

Since 1962, AS Scan has provided ship repairs for local fishermen in and around Hvide Sande. In recent years, the company has evolved towards more high-tech products aimed at various industries beyond the local area and fishing sector. The future growth will primarily focus on these new business areas due to the declining activity in the fishing industry over many years.

 

Board reshuffle

In conjunction with the changes in ownership, there will also be a reshuffle in the board of directors. Jan Jakobsen will take over as chairman of the board, while Anton Bro and Jens Peter Langer will join as new board members alongside Michael Ørts Vejlgaard and Jacob Høj Lambæk.
