Delivery of steering gear and control system for the fishing vessel Vigilant (PD 365)
AS SCAN has delivered a complete steering gear and control system for the new fishing vessel Vigilant (PD 365), built by Karstensens Shipyard in Skagen, Denmark.
We are proud of another maritime delivery to the Scottish fishing fleet. Vigilant has just been handed over to Lunar Fishing Company Ltd. in Peterhead and is now ready for daily operations in the North Atlantic.

Modern fishing vessel from Karstensens Shipyard
Vigilant was built as newbuilding no. 484 at Karstensens Shipyard. The ship is designed with a focus on operational efficiency and features modern bridge and engine systems capable of handling the demanding conditions at sea.

Reliable steering under all conditions
SCAN has provided a comprehensive solution that integrates mechanical and electronic components:
-
Steering Gear: A robust hydraulic system designed to provide precise and stable steering, even in heavy weather and during demanding maneuvers. The system ensures rapid response and minimal maintenance.
-
Control System: Integrated bridge control with a user-friendly interface, giving the skipper full control and a complete overview. The system includes modern diagnostic functions and is designed according to ergonomic principles to reduce fatigue during long shifts.
The solution was developed in close dialogue with the shipyard and the shipowner to ensure optimal integration with the vessel's other systems.
