Steering gears

Scan Steering piston type steering gear guarantees reliability and high quality. This steering solution offers multiple options in rudder stock connections and cylinders and is suitable for flat steering gear compartments on vessels such as fishing vessels, work boats, cruisers and small ferries, that require a large rudder angle.

We have 60 year of experience during which time more than 1,500 units have been delivered. All steering gears are delivered as a complete system, including hydraulic power units, control and alarm systems.

Our high-quality steering gear is a compact solution for both single and multi-rudder systems.

Our skilled engineers put a great effort in supplying the customer with installation drawings and special design the steering system to each vessel to make the installation on board quicker, more cost-effective and space-saving.

Rudder carrier bearing

Rudder carrier bearings are designed to support the rudder weight, allowing the rudderstock to turn freely and accommodate rudder stock deflection.

A double row spherical roller bearing is mounted in an integrated bearing housing which is machined into the steering gear base plate. This design allows for a very easy installation, perfect alignment and quick maintenance.
